Clutch Sports Media provides high-quality live coverage of the most-watched sporting events in Central Illinois. CSM was founded in 2019 by two Bradley University broadcasting students, Joey Wright and Larry Larson. We don't believe in cutting corners.

LARRY LARSON

Larry Larson Clutch Sports Media

Larry Larson a play-by-play broadcaster for the Dunedin Blue Jays (Low-A, Toronto Blue Jays) and for various sporting events around the Midwest. Larry, a native of Rockford, Illinois, graduated from Bradley University in 2022 with a degree in Sports Communication. While at Bradley, Larry served as an editor of The Scout student newspaper, worked as a tour guide, and called Bradley Athletic events with BravesVision. 

JOEY WRIGHT

Joey Wright Clutch Sports Media

Joey Wright is a reporter at The News-Gazette in Champaign and an on-air personality for Champaign Multimedia Group's three radio stations: NewsTalk 1400-AM & 93.9-FM, Lite Rock 97.5-FM and Classic Hits 107.9-FM. An Urbana native, Wright graduated from Bradley University in 2022 after being heavily involved with Braves Vision — Bradley's student-led broadcast production group — and worked in various on-air and production roles for Valley on ESPN telecasts of Braves sporting events.

Jonathan Michel is entering his fifth year with CSM as a 2023 graduate of Bradley University with a degree in sports communication and minors in journalism and advertising/public relations. During his time at Bradley, Jonathan was the Co-Editor-in-Chief of The Bradley Scout newspaper after serving as Sports Co-Editor. He also has done play-by-play, color commentary, and produced broadcasts of various Bradley sports on ESPN3 and ESPN+, in addition to shooting and editing highlight videos. He was homeschooled throughout high school. Jonathan played varsity basketball for Quad Cities Christian School in Moline, Illinois before moving to the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area where he played for the SWCHA Saints, a nationally ranked homeschool basketball team. Jonathan is adamantly trying to break 80 in golf for the first time and enjoys playing Wii.

GAVIN RUSSELL

Gavin Russell Clutch Sports Media

Gavin Russell is a sophomore at Illinois Central College. He joined Clutch Sports in February 2021, and started helping with broadcasts in May. Additionally, Gavin also independently covered high school football and baseball in spring of 2021. Leading up to that, he produced and co-hosted a sports podcast. He enjoys following Bradley University athletics closely, especially the basketball team. Gavin also enjoys working at his seasonal job, Eastside Centre, as a member of the grounds crew. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, golfing, playing and listening to music, and catching a game of one of his favorite Chicago sports teams. You can find Gavin on Twitter @Gavin_IL

John Komosa Clutch Sports Media

John Komosa is a Utility Project Manager at Rohn Products LLC in Peoria and former Sports Reporter for the Peoria Journal Star. John spent a decade with the newspaper, where he covered high school basketball, baseball, football, volleyball, golf, soccer, and college athletics. He was responsible for tracking season statistics, writing feature stories, and helping run the Journal Star Sportswriters weekly podcast show. John is known for his freelance reporting at WMBD and St. Louis Post-Dispatch. John is a 2010 graduate from Peoria Christian High School, where he played baseball. After PCS, John studied Journalism at Illinois Central College. John has many hobbies, which include golfing, watching basketball, movie reviews and playing Madden.

FRANCISCO ALONZO

Francisco Alonzo Clutch Sports Media

Francisco Alonzo graduated from Bradley University in 2024 with a degree in Sports Communication. He was born in Guatemala City and in 2017 decided to start his journey in the United States. Francisco is a 2020 graduate of Marquette Catholic High School located in Indiana, where he was captain of the soccer team. At Bradley, Francisco served as a contributor for the sports section of the Bradley Scout and was also involved with Braves Vision, helping as a production assistant with the Braves' ESPN broadcasts. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, and creating YouTube videos. He also likes to watch the NBA is a big FC Barcelona fan. He hopes to find a career covering soccer matches in Europe. 

JOSHUA MESSENGER

Josh Messenger Clutch Sports Media

Joshua Messenger is a winter 2023 graduate of Bradley University with degrees in sports communication and advertising/public relations, plus a minor in Spanish. He works with a variety of sports production companies across the state of Illinois, doing freelance work on a part-time basis and currently works full-time at Simantel, a Peoria-based marketing firm. He joined Clutch Sports Media in January of 2022 and interned with the Peoria Chiefs the following summer as a broadcast assistant. Originally, Messenger hails from Philadelphia, but has lived in 11 different states and is on a quest to visit all 50. In his free time, he can be seen rooting on his Philly sports teams, watching race cars drive in circles, playing chess, and editing articles for his family's leadership website.

Rodrigo Perez is a 2024 graduate of Bradley University with a degree in Sports Communication and minors in journalism and advertising and public relations. A Joliet, Illinois native with a deep passion for soccer, Rodrigo has helped out in various roles at Clutch Sports Media, starting behind the camera and transitioning behind the controls as a producer/director. Rodrigo has served as the Assistant Sports Editor of The Bradley Scout and in the production of various Bradley sports broadcasts. His passion doesn't stop with sports as he loves listening and writing music, watching sit-coms and keeping up with the latest Star Wars shows.

OWEN DIMPFL

Owen Dimpfl Clutch Sports Media

Owen Dimpfl is a senior at Bradley University and majors in Sports Communication with two additional minors in Marketing and Organizational Communication. Owen’s hometown is Barneveld, Wisconsin, a small town in the southwestern portion of the state. He has worked with Clutch Sports Media as a broadcaster, writer, and production assistant for the past two years. He also works as a broadcaster and production assistant with Braves Vision and is the president of Bradley’s club baseball team. In his free time, Owen enjoys spending time with friends and family, listening to country music, and cheering on his Wisconsin sports teams. A fun fact about him is that he was one of 34 students in his high school graduation class. 

PATRICK HUBER

Patrick Huber Clutch Sports Media

Patrick Huber is a 2023 graduate of East Peoria High School. During his time with Clutch Sports Media, Patrick has worked behind the scenes producing and directing broadcasts while also working with Braves Vision, Bradley's student broadcast group. He will be attending the University of Kentucky in the fall of 2024 while maintaining involvement in CSM when he is in the Central Illinois area. Patrick is a staunch supporter of the Green Bay Packers.

MICHAEL SAVOIE

Michael Savoie Clutch Sports Media

Michael Savoie is a sophomore at Kankakee Community College studying mass communication. Michael previously attended Bradley University as a sports communication major where he was a sports reporter for The Scout student newspaper, a member of the university’s club golf team and was a tour guide. A native of St. Anne, Illinois, Michael played varsity baseball and golf and held the director of athletics media position at St. Anne Community High School. Along with working for Clutch Sports Media, Michael works as a sportscaster for the 94.1 WGFA radio station in Watseka, Illinois, and writes for the St. Anne Connections newspaper in his hometown. He holds two jobs with his high school as the director of media and the assistant golf coach. In his free time, Michael enjoys playing golf with friends and rooting on the Chicago Cubs.

DALTON CARMIEN

Dalton Carmien Clutch Sports Media

Dalton Carmien is a sophomore at Bradley University from Champaign, Illinois, and majors in Sports Communication. Dalton began working with CSM in the fall of 2023, and during his tenure has worked as a play-by-play and color commentator, camera operator, producer, and writer. Dalton specializes in covering baseball, and his knowledge and love of the game stems from playing for four years at the High School of St. Thomas More in Champaign and being a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals superfan. At Bradley, Dalton is also a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity and is an avid supporter of all Bradley athletics.

CADEN SEXTON

Caden Sexton Clutch Sports Media

Caden Sexton is a junior at Bradley University, majoring in Sports Communication and double minoring in Journalism and Advertising and Public Relations. Caden is from Downers Grove, Illinois and is a graduate of Downers Grove South High School. This school year, Caden will also serve as President of Braves Vision, Bradley’s, student broadcasting club as well as a communications intern with the Bradley Athletic Department. He has spent the last two summers as a promotions intern with the Kane County Cougars. An Eagle Scout, Caden loves to be outdoors and went on three Philmont treks, which is a two week backpacking trip to Cimmaron, New Mexico.

Robert Brown is a senior at Bradley University, majoring in Sports Communication and lives life with a passion for media production. Since September 2023, he has been honing his skills in camera operation and broadcasting with Clutch. Outside of his academic and professional pursuits, Robert enjoys a variety of hobbies. He's an avid gamer, a dedicated baseball card collector, and a fervent sports fan. His favorite teams include the Chicago Cubs, New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, and Washington Capitals. His favorite broadcasters and heroes growing up were Joe Buck, Len Kasper, Al Michaels, Jim Nantz and Mike "Doc" Emrick

Teddy Ball is a 2024 graduate of Pekin High School where he used his experience with Clutch Sports Media to become the first-ever president of Pekin's broadcasting club. Teddy has filled a variety of roles with CSM, including play-by-play, color, producing, camera, and social media. At Pekin, he broadcasted many Dragons sporting events while also being a member of the track and field team.

Ethan Carbone is a junior at Bradley University, majoring in Advertising/Public Relations. A 2022 graduate of Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois, he has taken on multiple positions in sports media during his time at Bradley, including writing for the Bradley Scout, running cameras for broadcasts of Bradley sporting events on ESPN3/ESPN+, and interning in the Bradley Athletics office as the sports information director for the Braves' women's tennis team. He is also a co-host for the Creating Madness Nation college basketball podcast and has been a contributor for College Basketball Review. Ethan enjoys following Chicago professional sports teams.

Latif Love is a junior at Bradley University majoring in Sports Communication and is a graduate of Marian Catholic High School in Chicago. He has been involved in many facets of sports media since day one at Bradley, working with Braves Vision and writing for the Bradley Scout, where he is currently the Sports Editor and covers Bradley's men's and women's basketball teams. Additionally, he has worked as a color commentator and reporter during his two years with Clutch Sports Media. Latif is an aspiring NBA insider and is a co-host for The Debate Room podcast.

Owen Cook is a senior at Richwoods High School. He began working in live broadcasts with REMSHO, a Morton-based production company in 2023. An avid runner and is a member of the Richwoods cross country team, he is hoping to complete an Ironman triathlon one day.

Cody Roskens Clutch Sports Media

Cody Roskens is the men's basketball SID at Bradley University. A 2022 Bradley graduate from Avoca, Iowa, Cody graduated from AHSTW High School in 2019 after he participated in football, basketball, track and cross country at the varsity level. Cody was the play-by-play broadcaster for Harlan Municipal Utilities, covering Harlan Community High School and southwest Iowa high school athletics from 2014-2020. Upon arriving at Bradley, Cody got involved in Braves Vision and became the head manager for the Bradley men’s basketball team. He interned for TBT (The Basketball Tournament) during the summer of 2021. In his free time, Cody can often be found keeping up with his favorite sports teams and watching new movies.

Evan Johnson graduated from Bradley University in 2022 with a major in Sports Communication and a minor in Advertising/Public Relations. Evan hails from Washburn, IL and graduated from Lowpoint-Washburn High School in 2018, where he was captain of the varsity basketball and Scholastic Bowl teams, among other things. Evan’s passion for sports intersects with a love of sneakers, which is why you’ll catch him posting what’s on his feet on any given day, retweeting the latest in footwear, or even working the register at the local Finish Line. Following graduation, Evan hopes to find a career in visual or social media marketing, or perhaps curating athletic talent for sportswear brands. Josh Schwam spent three years with Clutch Sports Media as a social media specialist, including leading in-event content execution of the Washington Tournament of Champions and State Farm Holiday Classic. He graduated from Bradley University in 2022 and is currently pursing his Masters in Sports Journalism from Arizona State. Schwam is currently a special projects employee for Major League Baseball, assigned to the Arizona Fall League. At ASU, Schwam is a Sports Information graduate assistant, where he handles the day-to-day information and promotion for the nationally-ranked Sun Devil Men’s Golf squad, all postgame press releases for Sun Devil men’s basketball and assists in creating men's basketball game notes

JACOB STEINBERG (2021)

Jacob Steinberg Clutch Sports Media

Jacob Steinberg is a 2021 graduate of Bradley University with a degree in Sports Communication. Born and raised in Peru, Illinois, Jacob comes by way of LaSalle-Peru High School and Illinois Valley Community College. At Bradley, Jacob was a contributor with the Bradley Scout and served as the assistant video coordinator of Braves Vision where he filmed and produced social media content for the social media pages of Bradley Athletics squads. Jacob was also heavily involved through the production side of broadcasts in Braves Vision. In addition to his role at Clutch, Jacob has worked for the Peoria Chiefs. In his free time, he enjoys rooting for the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears, sim racing, and making creative content for the world to see. 

MATT HARRINGTON (2019-2022)

Matt Harrington Clutch Sports Media

Matt Harrington is a senior Sports Communication major at Bradley University in Peoria, IL. A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Harrington graduated from Cretin-Derham Hall High School in 2018, where he began his broadcasting career in girls hockey. Harrington has served as the Director of Broadcasting for the Bradley University Hockey Club since 2019, and also once held the same position with the Peoria Mustangs, a tier 3 junior hockey team. He is a member of Bradley’s Braves Vision, serving a variety of broadcast positions for Bradley sporting events. During winter break, Harrington is heavily involved with MNHockeyTV, a live streaming service that covers high school hockey throughout the state of Minnesota. In his free time, Harrington enjoys gaming, trivia, bowling and more.
