2024 Football Preview: Highly-promising Elmwood-Brimfield has recipe to turn the tables

Late summer into autumn is a special time of year for the communities of Elmwood and Brimfield as football often captures the attention of students and families of both towns.


For the 26th consecutive season, they’ll get to enjoy their Friday nights watching a Todd Hollis-led team. Since taking over in 1999, Hollis has shaped the program into the tradition-based, goal-oriented and successful team it is today. 


The Trojans have made 17 different trips to the state playoffs in the Hollis era but last season may have left a bitter taste in their mouths, finishing 4-5 and just missing out on another postseason berth. 


But the advantage Elmwood/Brimfield has coming into the season is that the Trojans may have the most momentum out of any team in central Illinois. Despite falling to a 1-5 start last season and taking away playoff hopes, the Trojans didn’t quit.
