Pekin football came down to earth last season after undergoing lots of turnover at its starting positions. However, after a 1-5 start, the Dragons turned it around with three wins to end the season which help them carry momentum – and lofty standards – into 2024.
“The team’s come along very, very well,” Pekin head coach Doug Nutter said. “They've worked hard since two weeks after our last game of last season and this group has, as usual, high expectations.”
With so many new faces in the fold, it was expected that it would take some time for them to adjust. Now, those same players give Pekin an experienced core that returns roughly nine starters.
