2024 Girls Basketball Preview: Normal West looks to lean on underclassmen in Ostling’s first year 

Normal West girls basketball team won’t be the biggest team on the floor most nights, but the Wildcats still have plenty of potential with more than a handful of freshmen and sophomores. 

Alongside veterans starters Dejeanna Smith and Hayley Upton, the Wildcats boast a few promising second-year players in Journey Johnson and Avery Dodge. After coaching the Wildcats from 2015 to 2021, Corey Ostling returns as the Normal West head coach, replacing Darrelyn Dunn.
