IVC softball had eight freshman on its team last year, which is usually a sign that a squad is rebuilding and focused on the future.
That, however, wasn’t the case as the talented group helped the Grey Ghosts finish above .500 and returns for first-year head coach and former IVC assistant Kristi Heim. With well over half of their starting production back on the field, the Ghosts look to prove that the future is bright in Chillicothe.
Among that group are two pitchers who combined for all of IVC’s innings last season, ICA second team all-state selection Nora Connett and several other key bats such as Joharah Boze and Morgan Ellington.
