Limestone’s 2024 campaign was one to remember, as the Rockets finished above .500 for the first time since they last won a regional in 2018.
Perhaps a more impressive feat was Limestone’s seven wins in a perennially tough Mid-Illini conference containing three state-ranked teams. Head coach Jamie Johnson, who has over a decade in coaching both high school and travel softball, will use a small-ball and a “we-over-me” approach to attempt to bring this year’s Rockets to heights seldom seen before in the program’s history.
Limestone returns six seniors – three of whom where starters last season – and a credible coaching staff consisting of two assistant coaches who played college softball to complement Johnson.
