2025 Softball Preview: Powered by experience, growing numbers, Morton gaining traction in Mid-Illini

Morton hasn’t typically been in the conversation of the best teams in the Mid-Illini for a while. That, however, could change this year in head coach Ashley Beyer’s second season with the Potters, who return a healthy portion of their starting lineup.


On top of Morton’s returnees, its pitching depth and influx of underclassmen talent contribute to the wave of momentum that the program is growing. Alyvia Springer, a second-team all-Mid Illini third-team ICA all-state infielder, and the sisterly pitching duo of Riley and Reagan Gashaw are just some of the Potters’ key players that look to help the team take its next step.
