A pair of small-school athletes put together big-time performances and were the most recent CSM Fall Athletes of the Week Presented by Dominos.
Bloomington Central Catholic girls swimmer Charlie Glatz won CSM Girls Athlete of the Week while Illini Bluffs golfer Cole McCoy took home the honor on the boys side. Both athletes received the most votes in each of their highly-competitive polls.

Glatz won CSM Girls Athlete of the Week after receiving 36 percent of the votes in the girls poll. The Saints’ senior won two events on her own in a quad meet at Urbana on Sept. 26, taking first in the 100 yard butterfly (1:10.20) and the 100 yard breaststroke (1:23.30) with both victories coming by over four seconds. Glatz also swam one of the later legs on Bloomington Central Catholic’s 400 yard freestyle relay and 200 yard medley relay, both of which won by over 12 seconds. Her other highlights this season include a pair of podium finishes at the Hononegah Invite on Sept. 21, where she placed second in the 100 yard butterfly (1:07.89 and third in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:20.46).

What’s been your favorite memory of the season/offseason so far?
“Senior night.”
If you had to be stranded on an island with a teammate, who would it be and why?
“Anna Mueller because she would make the time go by fast.”
Favorite music artist?
“Jack Johnson or Zach Bryan.”

“Poké bowls.”
Do you have any pregame routines/rituals?
“Pray and go through warm up stretches.”
Who’s your favorite college or professional athlete?
“[Washington Commanders quarterback] Sam Hartman.”
Do you have any hidden talents?
“Painting – I published an illustrated children’s book.”
Who’s your role model and why?
“My grandpa because he exemplifies hard work, selflessness and patience.”
McCoy won CSM Boys Athlete of the Week after receiving 28 percent of the votes in the boys poll. The senior golfer had an exceptionally strong week from Sept. 23-29, winning the ICAC title at Wee-Ma-Tuk CC with a career-low 75, beating out Illini Bluffs teammate Crew Fortin in a playoff for the championship. His nine-hole round of 40 helped the Tigers win an additional tri-meet on senior night over Midwest Central and LVC on Sept. 26.
Recently, McCoy helped the Tigers advance to sectionals by shooting an 83 to finish eighth at the Class 1A Jacksonville Routt Regional. He shot an 87 at the Quincy Notre Dame Sectional on Monday to finish 39th.

What’s been your favorite memory of the season/offseason so far?
"I would have to say that winning the ICAC was my favorite memory of the season. I worked so hard to get to that point and when I won, it was an amazing feeling I wish I could relive all the time"
If you had to be stranded on an island with a teammate, who would it be and why?
"It would most definitely be Nick Swanson, I know that we would make the most out of that island and have a blast while doing it."

"Morgan Wallen."

“Pizza"
Do you have any pregame routines/rituals?
"My pregame routine is to put my headphones in and listen to music while getting locked in before the match."
Who’s your favorite college or professional athlete?
“Ja Morant on the Memphis Grizzlies."
Do you have any hidden talents?
"Not many people know this, but I am pretty good at building things."
Who’s your role model and why?
"My sister Kierston who plays softball for Bradley because she is hard working and wins a lot."
