Golf courses in Central Illinois are about to get a lot busier over the next two months with the high school golf season officially arriving.
As the season begins, we take a look at everything related to prep golf in the area with boys golfers, teams and breakout candidates that will all make noise this season. Stay tuned for our girls golf preview, which will be released on Tuesday.
A common theme in the area is returning talent. Many of the best players in Central Illinois were sophomores, juniors and even freshmen a season ago and some look to make repeat trips to the IHSA State Finals, which were recently rescheduled to Oct. 18-19, one week later than its usual placement.
