Central Illinois girls golf outlook: Star players, teams to watch, breakout candidates and more

High school girls golfers statewide are teeing off on another season that’s full of action until the weather cools in mid-October.


As the season begins, we take a look at everything related to prep golf in the area with girls golfers, teams and breakout candidates that will all make noise this season. Check out our boys golf preview of area teams and players here.


There’s a strong class of seniors around the Peoria and Bloomington/Normal area that will lead their respective teams this season but a number of sophomores and juniors have proved that they can make their mark as well. Those that do so the best will qualify for the IHSA State Finals, which will be held Oct. 18-19 after a recent change in schedule. 


Wherever the season leads, it all starts in our season outlook with all the details about the teams and players to watch in Central Illinois.
