After a flurry of holiday tournaments preceded a quiet first week of the new year, the high school basketball schedule settled back into its normal groove last week.

While there weren’t many earth-shattering results, a few outcomes had effects on how the best Central Illinois teams stack up in the latest Clutch Sports Media boys’ basketball power rankings. The Heart of Illinois Conference and Inter-County Conference tournaments begin this week and will provide plenty of great basketball. Additionally, other games such as Peoria vs. Metamora on Tuesday and Richwoods vs. Peoria on Friday carry quite a bit of intrigue.
