With less than a full week left in the regular season, girls basketball teams across Central Illinois are making their final pushes before the playoffs start.
With postseason seedings and brackets already released, each team’s focus now shifts to playing its best basketball of the season. Many teams near the top of the Clutch Sports Media Girls Basketball Power Rankings are carrying plenty of momentum after maintaining win streaks, beating other area powers or a combination of both.
Notable games this week include a state-ranked battle between Morton and Washington on Tuesday for the Mid-Illini title, as well as clashes between Illini Bluffs and Eureka, Dunlap and Metamora and more.
Teams from the Mid-Illini and Big 12 make up the large school rankings while every other area school falls into the small school category. Teams receiving consideration are listed as well.
