METAMORA — Central Illinois is home to one of the state’s fastest sprinters.
He also happens to be one of the country’s fastest.
Metamora’s Jaiduan Cranford became that at the Illinois Top Times Championships indoor meet on March 29, flying down the green and gray-hued, 60-meter straightaway at Illinois Wesleyan’s Shirk Center in a blazing 6.73 seconds.
“After all the training and … grinding, I mean, I didn't think I really had it in me,” Cranford said. “But when I got out of those blocks, it just felt really good.”
