NORMAL – The rematch didn’t go as planned for Peoria Notre Dame.

The Irish found themselves subjected to a lengthy, hot-shooting Nashville team that controlled the game the entire way after the first quarter and fell to the Hornettes 55-29 in Saturday’s Class 2A state title game at CEFCU Arena.

While the emotions and tears poured through after the game, a look in the rearview mirror painted a whole different story.

The Irish have left an elite legacy over the past few seasons.

“It's tough because of what they put into this game and the kids in the locker room with them,’ Langholf said. “They genuinely, want the other kids to have success, and that's why we're so proud of them and it stinks today, but when that hurt goes away, they're gonna have great memories.”
