A common theme in my life this past week has been running late. This column should be done on Mondays but alas, here I am on Tuesday afternoon putting the finishing touches on it.
As much as I try to be prudent, it’s just the way things go when there’s broadcasts (and hours of planning/preparation that go into them), social media posts, stories, podcast recording and more to do each day. Such is life sometimes in the heat of the high school sports season but on the other side of the coin, it means that there’s plenty of interesting and noteworthy happenings in prep sports, as is the case this week.
In case you’re new here, Michel’s Musings is our new weekly column where we touch on everything notable, noteworthy and exciting that happened in high school sports around the Peoria/Bloomington-Normal area that we didn’t otherwise cover during the previous week.
