Panthers pass Community’s test with flying colors, but they’re far from done

NORMAL — Even after extending its season-opening win streak to 10 games last week, Washington girls basketball still felt like it had strides to make in doing the little things.

But the Panthers did all those little things — rebounding, helping on defense, free throws and more — right on Monday night at previously-undefeated Normal Community. Those little things, coupled with a spectacular shooting display, led to a 62-31 win, perhaps the biggest statement so far in the Panthers’ 11-0 season.

“Last week, I [didn’t] feel like we were playing our best basketball,” Barth said. “We've been really focusing on team and our defense and we've been talking about the little things. We came together tonight and did all those little things and I'm so proud of them, because they saw a glimpse of who we can be if we do those little things.”
