CHAMPAIGN – Peoria Christian fought through plenty to get back to state for the first time since 2004.

However, they couldn’t fight through the 1-2 punch of Lanark Eastland forwards Parker Krogman and Adam Awender and sent the Chargers to a 55-35 loss in Thursday’s Class 1A state semifinal from the State Farm Center in Champaign.

The Chargers hoped to knock off the Cougars with their hot shooting that saw them sink the eighth-most threes in a season in IHSA history and helped bring them to Champaign in the first place.
