Shelly Stoner’s 300th win as a head coach couldn’t have tasted much sweeter.

The veteran coach led Limestone volleyball to its first sectional title in program history back in 2017, her final year at the helm until Paloma Simundic took over for four years. But in 2022, Stoner returned, and the Rockets returned to glory with a 25-23, 19-25, 25-22 victory over Geneseo to win the Class 3A Ottawa Sectional title on Thursday night.

“I didn't know it but of course my brothers, they knew it was [going to be] 300 but it couldn’t be more special, I love this,” Stoner said. “These seniors, they deserve this win and to get 300, I don't know a better way.”
