Eight boys basketball teams in the greater Peoria and Bloomington/Normal area can still dream of a state title this season.
First, however, they’ll have to get through the all-important sectional rounds, often the toughest playoff games in talent-rich areas like Central Illinois. Paths to sectional titles are never easy, but some are more favorable than others.
We looked at the path for each of the eight teams remaining and ranked them from one (best path to a sectional title) to eight (toughest path). It’s important to note that these are not power rankings of the best teams in the area; sometimes, the best teams can often have the most difficult road.
