One of the best moments in baseball and softball is a walk-off ending, and this week started with a few in both. Softball saw two different sides of a walk-off thriller with Normal West on the bright side and Tremont on the wrong end. Olympia baseball also lost on a walk-off to St. Joseph-Ogden.
As the regular season progresses, the cream of the crop rises with the heat of summer approaching. In baseball, Eureka and Tremont kept on winning in the Heart of Illinois, East Peoria and Dunlap continued cruising in the Mid-Illini and Normal Community remained undefeated in Big Twelve play. In softball, Canton earned their ninth consecutive win after their game against Limestone.
Two of the biggest individual performances came from Normal U-High baseball’s Connor MacMillan who went deep twice against Seneca and Dee-Mack softball’s Kenzie Knowles threw a perfect game against Fieldcrest.
Check out all of the scores, recaps and top performers from the day in Monday’s edition of The Roundup!
