Friday marked the return of Friday night lights and plenty of big games were had, including an edge-of-your-seat win by Normal West, statements made by Normal U-High, Elmwood/Brimfield and Peoria High and close wins from East Peoria and Tri-Valley.
Volleyball, boys soccer, boys golf and cross country were also in action on a muggy and somewhat rainy Friday in central Illinois.
