Monday marked the start of regional semifinal play in IHSA girls basketball and eight Central Illinois squads punched their ticket to regional title games on Thursday.
Among Monday’s notable winners were Manual, who narrowly beat Heart of Illinois Conference power Eureka, Canton, who used a big comeback to prevail and Washington, who escaped an upset with a big second half.
Tremont, Heyworth and Illini Bluffs were winners in boys regular season action.
