Only a handful of teams remain after Tuesday’s sectional semifinals in girls basketball and. Four of them aren’t surprising but one is after Pekin upset Normal Community to reach its first sectional title game in program history.
Washington and Morton both won at the Class 3A Ottawa Sectional to set up a fourth meeting between the two rivals while Peoria Notre Dame and Dee-Mack won in opposing fashions to set up a rematch of last year’s sectional title game in Class 2A.
Three area wrestling squads had dual team sectionals with two of them punching their tickets to state this weekend.
