Half of the boys basketball teams still remaining in the postseason clinched regional title berths on Wednesday and 16 of them hail from Central Illinois.
Princeville’s victory was the most dramatic as a buzzer-beater from Tucker Sennett lifted the Princes but Richwoods and Tri-Valley each scored close wins too.
All three Peoria public schools won and Metamora and Morton set up huge battle for a regional plaque on Friday. Both the Class 2A Tremont and El Paso-Gridley regionals will feature a matchup of two area teams after Wednesday’s results. Four teams from the ICAC will play for a regional title as well.
