Conference play abounded on Friday as teams from every conference in the area duked it out in key battles.
The Redbird Roundball Classic provided quality hoops with Normal Community and Metamora earning impressive wins and Dunlap nearly pulled off a comeback. Heart of Illinois Conference Tournament action continued and Peoria Christian pulled off its second big win over a rival in two weeks.
Kim Barth won her 200th game at Washington in girls hoops while Peoria Notre Dame, Canton and others looked impressive. The Mid-Illini Tournament in girls wrestling was held as well.
