It didn’t take long for Brimfield/Elmwood’s Sawyer Drury to make in impact this season as the Indians pitcher threw a perfect game to lead the way in Tuesday’s area prep highlights.
Farmington’s Lydia Overcash also threw a no-hitter in her season debut while Metamora opened its campaign against Pontiac in a battle of No. 1 vs. No. 2. Bloomington Central Catholic and Pekin were winners in both baseball and softball and Normal West baseball won in walk-off fashion.
Canton, Limestone, Manual and Normal Community all took victories in girls soccer.
