The Roundup, March 19, 2025: Nelson tosses no-no for Metamora on day filled with cancellations

Severe storms canceled or postponed almost all of Wednesday’s contests but a few teams were able to compete indoors.
Leading the way was Metamora softball, who got a no-hitter out of Allie Nelson in a dominating win.

In softball
Metamora 17, Chicago DePaul 0: Allie Nelson threw a four-inning no-hitter as Metamora (1-1, 0-0 Mid-Illini) sent the Rams packing in blowout fashion. Nelson finished her outing with 12 strikeouts. Kaidance Till led the Redbirds at the plate with a double, home run and four RBIs and Addi Pacha added a round tripper and three RBIs. Ally Trentman plated three Redbirds as well and Kennedy Nee socked a solo home run.
In boys track and field
At Monmouth: Farmington finished in a tie for fourth out of 11 teams at the Titan Invitational. Dax Ulm won the 800 meters in 2:04.21 and took third in the 1600 in 5:00.89. Ryan Helle won the pole vault for the Farmers with a height of 10 feet and Will Uptmor took third with a mark of eight feet, five and a half inches.
In girls track and field
At Monmouth: Farmington finished 10th at the Titan Invitational and was led by Paige Stevens running an 8.30 in the 60-yard dash to place third.
