The Roundup, May 2, 2024: U-High’s Rader throws perfect game, Limestone and Morton notable winners in softball

There have been a couple no-hitters this season across baseball and softball in Central Illinois but Normal U-High’s Drew Rader joined an elite club by throwing a perfect game to help the Pioneers sustain their win streak.

Limestone and Morton picked up big wins to keep the Mid-Illini race in softball interesting while Peoria High earned its first win of the season. Normal Community softball took a hard-earned victory in one of the longest games in the area this season and Normal U-High and Eureka blasted past their opponents in sizable wins.

Brimfield/Elmwood and Eureka were among notable winners in baseball while a handful of teams had good showings at area track meets. Girls soccer action featured multiple winners from the Twin Cities
