Not one, not two, but three volleyball teams from the Peoria and Bloomington/Normal area will play at the state finals this weekend after elated super-sectional victories.
Limestone and El Paso-Gridley made history by securing their program’s first trip to state while Bloomington Central Catholic made it to state for the fifth time in school history and first time since 2016. Not only did three teams advance to state, but BCC and EPG both did so in Class 2A and have the possibility of facing each other in the state championship game.
Normal West and Illini Bluffs’ bids to reach state came up short in two-set losses.
