Washington falls to Kaneland in home opener and Stevens' debut

WASHINGTON – The Washington Panthers couldn’t quite find its rhythm offensively and in a 20-14 non-conference loss to Maple Park Kaneland at Babcook Field on Friday night.


The game marked the second year in a row that the matchup was decided by six points after the Panthers prevailed 33-27 in the first game of the 2023 season, as well as the head coaching debut for Washington’s Todd Stevens.
